Love affairs before marriage has become common these days in India. In olden days couples did fall in love before marriage which ended up into a marriage sometimes and sometimes it did not.

However the woman invariably did not compromise with her virginity even if the relationship broke. Her parents therefore were able to arrange her marriage with someone else.

The problem these days is that most couples get intimate physically the moment they the love affair starts. The result is either the woman conceives before marriage or is at times blackmailed by the male partner into other bad deeds, may be regular rapes or extracting money from her and so on. This may happen to the male partner also who may be threatened of legal action and exploited as the woman wants to.

The saddest part of the story is when a child is born out of such extra marital relationship. In view of the society the child is called a illegitimate child having no right to the father's surname or care. The unmarried mother and her child is left alone to bear the harsh abuse of the society. The result is the child grows up into an adult with psychological problems like split personality, aggressivness or an introvert etc.

It's therefore essential that relationship before marriage should better not be consummated to avoid giving the world a generation that is not normal and not acceptable to the society.
